Hello all! We are all living in the middle of a global pandemic and these are scary times.
I would like to get back to shooting soon ish but of course am closely listening to government guidelines as well as using common sense.
From mid August I will be taking 2-3 hour bookings with one photographer only outdoors. We will maintain more than a 2 metre distance at all times. Where we meet must be fairly secluded as we don’t want to have too many visitors during our shoot. I have some locations in Huddersfield/Brighouse that could work nicely as a woodland type of background but of course I am happy to travel also. My rates are slightly discounted in these times to help everyone get back on their feet so please just message me for more information.
Both of us and our households must be symptom free for 2 weeks and not have travelled anywhere abroad within the past month.
From September I am considering doing 1-2-1 studio shoots. The studio must be large and preferably with the potential to either open windows or have a door open to let air ventilate. I have studios in mind in West Yorkshire that fit the bill nicely. We will arrange our arrival time so that we will not enter the studio at the same time. The studio will be cleaned before our arrival but I will also be bringing cleaning products and hand sanitiser. We will maintain more than 2 metre distance at all times. You are more than welcome to try and connect your camera to a laptop so that I am able to see the back of the camera images however if this is not possible we will take multiple attempts at the same photo. Again, my rates are slightly discounted in these times to help everyone get back on their feet. Both of us and our households must be symptom free for 2 weeks and not have travelled anywhere abroad within the past month including the studio owner as well. I will not shoot for more than 2 hours to begin with just to keep exposure level to a minimum. Again I am happy to travel as long as the studio and changing space can be shown to me prior to the shoot.
I want to get back into creating as quickly as possible and hope you understand the measures I have put in place are to keep everyone safe. Please message me with any enquiries you may have or any questions about the above.
I have been aching to tell everyone about the exciting collaboration with Balbir Singh Dance Company and Billingham International Folklore Festival of World Dance- “The Two Fridas”.
The Two Fridas will be a beautiful dance and theatre performance encompassing the life and times of two of the art world’s most inspiring female figures, Frida Kahlo (Mexico) and Amrita Sher-Gil (Hungary / India). The idea for the piece is the imaginative work of Festival director Olga Maloney.
The project is being made possible with support by Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants Programme.
Frida has always been an inspiration of mine and to be able to portray her is a dream come true ✨
The Bowes Museum kindly hosted our visit to mark the launch of the project, as we are looking to perform the world premiere of the show within the grounds later this year!

I found this lovely recipe which I have linked below but I have made some minor tweaks as I found it very dry. The original recipe contains mint and no peanut butter, so you are welcome to do a little chop and change between the two recipes!
½ cup dried dates
½ cup almond meal (or almonds)
3 Tbsp sultanas
2 Tbsp cocoa powder
1-2 tsp boiling water
Peanut butter (small amount)
2 tsp desiccated coconut unsweetened
Combine dry ingredients into a food processor and pulse until a fine consistency and no lumps of dried fruit remain
Add ½ a tsp of boiling water at a time and blitz together
Shape into balls/bars as desired and with each serving add a small amount of peanut butter that acts as a binding agent

I put my little fox card on the side of my local cafe Coffeevolution in Huddersfield- a great independent business.
I have worked with Transcend Dance Company on a few occasions. I am currently in a research and development process with the company for a new work to be premiered in 2020. They are a contemporary dance company based in Hebden Bridge and they offer fantastic classes. You can find/contact them through the following links:

“Weaving the Future is a stunning new exhibition commissioned by the 2019 Saltaire Festival. It combines photography, film and performance to explore how the innovative spirit that once powered the textile industry is alive and well, as textile technologies are transformed for the 21st century. It will be staged at the iconic Salts Mill as the flagship arts event of the annual festival, now in its 17th year.”
