Photoshoot Statement Feb 2021

Hello all!

I would like to get back to shooting soon ish but of course am closely listening to government guidelines as well as using common sense.

From the beginning of April I will be taking 2-3 hour bookings with one photographer only outdoors. We will maintain a 2 metre distance at all times. Where we meet must be fairly secluded as we don’t want to have too many visitors during our shoot. Or if we are working in a cityscape we can do this in off peak times. I have some locations in Huddersfield/Brighouse that could work nicely as a woodland type of background but of course I am happy to travel also. My rates are slightly discounted for any bookings made during Feb/March (shoots do not need to take place in March) to help everyone get back on their feet so please just message me for more information.

Both of us and our households must be symptom free for 2 weeks.

From late April I am doing studio shoots. The studio must be large and preferably with the potential to either open windows or have a door open to let air ventilate. I have studios in mind in West Yorkshire that fit the bill nicely. We will arrange our arrival time so that we will not enter the studio at the same time. The studio will be cleaned before our arrival but I will also be bringing cleaning products and hand sanitiser. We will maintain a 2 metre distance at all times. You are more than welcome to try and connect your camera to a laptop so that I am able to see the back of the camera images however if this is not possible we will take multiple attempts at the same photo. Again, my rates are slightly discounted to help everyone get back on their feet. Both of us and our households must be symptom free for 2 weeks. I am happy to travel as long as the studio and changing space can be shown to me prior to the shoot.

I want to get back into creating as quickly as possible and hope you understand the measures I have put in place to keep everyone safe. Please message me with any enquiries you may have or any questions about the above.

Check out this lovely little clip of ‘Medea’ that I was a part of and edited: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUaqb-EXFf0&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR1hxgEyfsEROuoCHGdLsugYPSoxXtOXitqixurNXrnQAtxlLi5d6SoNtE0

Proud to announce we won the 2nd place among 40 US entries with an extract (Chorus, 410-445) from Medea for the Out of Chaos competition, which is supported by the Center for Hellenic Studies at the University of Harvard, the Society for Classical Studies, BADA and the Classical Association.

This short film was created in less than 10 days, directed remotely in lockdown and in lack of professional equipment.

Many thanks to all the unseen heroes who supported us all the way through, as well as Tim C Huang, Mikołaj Flis, Natalia Lesińska.

I would really appreciate it if you could check it out and whilst you’re there why not subscribe? I am going to be posting more content soon including an exciting update about a partnership between myself and a wonderful charity. Stay tuned to find out more information soon.

‘The Two Fridas’

I can finally reveal my big news:

I have been aching to tell everyone about the exciting collaboration with Balbir Singh Dance Company and Billingham International Folklore Festival of World Dance- “The Two Fridas”.

The Two Fridas will be a beautiful dance and theatre performance encompassing the life and times of two of the art world’s most inspiring female figures, Frida Kahlo (Mexico) and Amrita Sher-Gil (Hungary / India). The idea for the piece is the imaginative work of Festival director Olga Maloney.

The project is being made possible with support by Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants Programme.

Frida has always been an inspiration of mine and to be able to portray her is a dream come true ✨

The Bowes Museum kindly hosted our visit to mark the launch of the project, we will premiere ‘The Two Friads’ on 19th September 2020. https://www.thebowesmuseum.org.uk/Whats-On/Events/Event-Detail/ID/23001ARCVCNHNNNCLVMBNCMRGPKGBRCSK

Homemade Cocoa, Coconut and Peanut Butter Nakd Bars

Dear Reader,

I found this lovely recipe which I have linked below but I have made some minor tweaks as I found it very dry. The original recipe contains mint and no peanut butter, so you are welcome to do a little chop and change between the two recipes!

  • ½ cup dried dates
  • ½ cup almond meal (or almonds)
  • 3 Tbsp sultanas
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1-2 tsp boiling water
  • Peanut butter (small amount)
  • 2 tsp desiccated coconut unsweetened

  1. Combine dry ingredients into a food processor and pulse until a fine consistency and no lumps of dried fruit remain
  2. Add ½ a tsp of boiling water at a time and blitz together
  3. Shape into balls/bars as desired and with each serving add a small amount of peanut butter that acts as a binding agent
  4. Wrap in cling film
  5. Store in an airtight container in the fridge

Miss a favourite place?
Offer meaning and purpose to your next walk with a handmade #missyouinitiative card. A smile is the least we can offer and it always pays back. Spaces are important for human interaction.
1. Make a miss you note. Add date and #missyouinitiative.

2. Take it to the place and take a picture.

3. Post it on social media and hashtag #missyouinitiative

4. Spread ♡ and support to local businesses and communities!

I put my little fox card on the side of my local cafe Coffeevolution in Huddersfield- a great independent business.
